Abstract. A method is described to solve septic equations in radicals. The salient feature of such a solvable septic is that the sum of its four roots is equal to the sum of its remaining three roots. The conditions to be satis¯ed by the coe±cients of the septic are given. A numerical example is solved using the proposed method.
